new Beatles community [11 Feb 2006|02:59pm]

I just started a new community dedicated to Beatles web sites - beatlesites (clever name, isn't it?).  It is a community where you can advertise and discuss your Beatles-related web sites. Post updates to your site, advertise it, get help and suggestions from other Beatles web site owners or fans, etc.

Anyone is welcome to join, whether or not you own a Beatles web site - this will (hopefully) be a great place to keep on top of all of your favorite sites' updates and discover new sites.  My hope is that BeatleSites will provide Beatles fans with one-stop access to a variety of active Beatles sites.

This community is dying, let's revive it!

Who's excited about Paul's upcoming album? I definitely am; I'm hoping it will be a smashing success commercially and critically. I heard the latest single and at first I didn't really like it, but hearing it again, I now think it's pretty gosh darn good.

I hope this community comes back to life!

I have just read and signed the online petition:

"John Lennon Day For Peace And Love On Earth"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.

This is for October 9th to be proclaimed as John Lennon Day For Peace and Love on Earth, which would obviously be shortened to John Lennon Day. For those of you who don't know, October 9th is John Lennon's birthday. I don't see why anybody would really be opposed to signing so if you have a minute to spare just sign it. They need 10 million signatures for this idea to be considered and with over 57000 signatures so far it seems that many people are for this idea.

Wasn't Ringo good on Jonathon Ross? He came across as really natural and down to Earth. I was so happy to hear him talk about John and Paul and George ("The Boys"). I will definatly be buying that book. It has a hologram on the front :)

[ mood | sleepy ]

I was thinking about this... How do you think the world would be changed John had lived? Would anything be different? What else might he have done? Would he still be alive today? Your thoughts are appreciated.

[13 Aug 2004|07:17pm]

I've been listening to George's All Things Must Pass album a lot lately. "I Live For You" is so beautiful, but when you really listen to what he's saying, I realized it's really a very sad song.

lyricsCollapse )

Does anyone else see it that way? Like, his only reason for being around was for "you"... anyone know if that was Patti or Olivia? There's this 8-minute video I have about the Brainwashed album, and there's a clip of George, around 2000, saying something like he felt like he was on the wrong planet, and he just wanted to be in his garden and not out in the noisy cities. And I connected that back to this song in a way... anyone get what I'm saying? It's like he never felt like he really needed to be here. maybe??

Downloads. [11 Aug 2004|10:34am]

A long time ago I found a free download of John Lennon singing "Mother." It wasn't the album one. . . It was so sweet and soft and I loved it. . . Does any one have ay idea where it may be? Or any other downloads? Much thanks in advance.

I found this interview done by National Public Radio. Host Bob Boilen talks with Jeff Lynne and Dhani Harrison about George's album Brainwashed.
